Heather + Brendan

with 3 comments

Heather and Brendan celebrated their wedding recently with their ceremony at Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church and then over to Shifting Sands at Dam Neck for their reception.  Everyone had a “throw-down” great time with the sounds from DJ Rodney Charles!  (Always great to see you, Rodney.)  Also, I’d like to thank Michelle Kilgore, from Weddings by Michelle, for coordinating the event.  What a great job! And also, thanks to Jeremy Kilgore, with Blue Steel Pro Lighting,  for putting on a great light show!  The extra lighting always puts that special touch to a reception.  Also, one very special part of the wedding was a penny.  Heather carried the penny that was given to her mom, when she was married to Heather’s dad over 25 years ago!  Thanks, Heather and Brendan, for letting me be part of your great day!0051.jpg 025.jpg 036.jpg 048.jpg 053.jpg 084.jpg 090.jpg 124.jpg 1923.jpg 222.jpg 234.jpg 316.jpg 347.jpg 351.jpg 417.jpg 426.jpg 507.jpg 519.jpg

Megan + Tony

with 3 comments

Megan and Tony had an awesome wedding beginning with getting ready at the Hospitality House in Colonial Williamsburg. After everyone was ready, we headed over to the College of William and Mary’s Wren Chapel for their ceremony. Afterwards, we had a great time walking around campus and ending up at the Crim Dell for some alone time.8) Their reception was held at the Williamsburg Winery and the staff there was fantastic, as usual. Also, it’s always great to see Sean from Astro DJ’s, who rocked the house all night, including making Tony’s mom happy with a couple of renditions of the “Chicken Dance.” Enjoy the pics below!001.jpg 002.jpg 003.jpg 004.jpg 005.jpg 006.jpg 007.jpg 008.jpg 009.jpg 010.jpg 011.jpg 012.jpg 013.jpg 014.jpg 015.jpg 016.jpg 017.jpg 018.jpg 019.jpg 020.jpg

James River State Park

with 6 comments

I just returned from a fantastic camping trip with photographers Echard Wheeler and David Schwartz and lighting guru Jeremy Kilgore.  The four of us traveled to James River State Park, close to Lynchburg and Appomattox and our first night there, the temperatures dipped in the 20’s.  Although the temperatures were low and the water was high, we had a blast kayaking/canoeing, fishing and catching up.  Below are some pictures from the trip and I know Eck shot some pics, so check out his blog, as well.  Those of you that know your iso’s, check out the campfire pic with Dave and Jeremy and the single light shot of Echard.  Those were shot at iso 25,600.  They’re very grainy, but hey, I’m shooting at 25,600.  blog931.jpg blog0933.jpg _shp0936.jpg _shp0948.jpg _shp0954.jpg _shp0991.jpg _shp1007.jpg _shp1021.jpg

Carie + Chris

with 6 comments

This past Saturday I got to cover the most incredible wedding and reception and it was completely due to Carie, Chris and their families.  They were the most loving people I’ve met in a while and I know their mouths hurt from all of the smiling and laughing that went on. The ceremony was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, followed by a reception at the Chrysler Museum.  Carie wore what was a surprise to me…a pair of sneakers, but they matched the dress perfectly.  Also, Carie’s mom makes the most delicious limeade drinks I’ve ever had and that says a lot since I’m from Mississippi.  BTW, to all you camera snobs out there, this wedding was photographed with the new Nikon flagship, the D3. This camera is insane with all it’s capabilities, including the wonderful high ISO capabilities. Carie and Chris, thanks for being so, so cool! 1002.jpg 1022.jpg 1032.jpg 1072.jpg 1081.jpg 1102.jpg 1162.jpg 1251.jpg 1321.jpg 1341.jpg 1361.jpg 1441.jpg 1491.jpg 1581.jpg 1591.jpg 1741.jpg 1751.jpg 1892.jpg 1922.jpg
