Katie + Matt
I had the pleasure to photograph Katie and Matt’s wedding at Old St. Bede Chapel in Williamsburg, with the reception following at The Williamsburg Lodge. In July, we did Katie’s bridal session at the Ferguson Center for the Arts at Christopher Newport University. What a spot to take pictures! I love the way the light bounces around under the columns, so soft and subtle! This is the shot Katie chose for her portrait and I think it’s beautiful! At the Lodge, during the reception, guests had fun playing croquet and bocce ball on the lawn. Some unique shots for your wedding album, guys! Thanks again for the opportunity to shoot your wedding.

Tara + Rob
Tara and Rob had an awesome wedding, beginning in Chesapeake and ending at the Renaissance Hotel in Portsmouth. I love photographing at the Renaissance, as it has a lot of cool places to shoot. Tara and Rob’s friends and family came to rock the house and that is exactly what they did! Daevid’s Flowers did a super job…again! And, Michelle Kilgore, of Weddings by Michelle, brought the whole day together with her seamless style. (BTW, Michelle…I love the wall lights you guys are offering for the receptions. It really helps to bring in that ambient light in the background of the pictures. Just a photographer’s point of view.) Kudos to the staff at the Renaissance, as well. The whole day and night went off without a hitch, except for at the church…(get it?) Congrats, Tara and Rob.

Burrito Bash!!
It was great hanging out with my friends and renowned photographers today for lunch. It’s always inspiring to sit around and talk shop and whatever else comes to mind. Below are, from left, Keith Cephus, Eleise Theuer, David Schwartz, Echard Wheeler and seated in front…my wife, Terri, and me. The food was great (thanks echard) and the company was better. Thanks again to Eleise for being such a great hostess.
No More Training Wheels!
Well…today was the day. No more training wheels on Maddox’s bike. He and I have been talking about this for a while now and today was the day. I remember like it was yesterday learning how to ride a bike. Living in Mississippi growing up, you tend to find whatever you can to learn on and mine was a girl’s bike with no seat and those high handle bars with no grips. KLASSY!! Below, Terri and I each have a pic helping him out. BTW, did I mention I picked the hottest day of the summer to start this project!?!? I’ll keep you posted on the progress. Our goal is to be parent free by his 6th birthday in September.
